Guys, I know how excited you are to watch Manny Pacquiao Vs Joshua Clottey live at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Arlington, Texas this March 13, 2010 Saturday night fight called "The event". Pacquiao will going to defend his WBO welterweight title against Clottey. So, What do you think Pacquiao Vs. Clottey? Who will win?
For me, I go for Manny Pacquiao to win over Joshua Clottey by KO maybe in round 4 or round 5. That's only my prediction and my own opinion. As what I saw Pacquiao is in a good shape and well built body. He's still too fast and furious. He is my idol. I bet Pacquiao to win the fight against Clottey! And I wish Pacquiao vs Mayweather will happen! So, who will win in Pacquiao Vs Clottey?
Just say Fat man Dan on First Take talking about Clottey vs pacquiao. He was explaining the draw of Cowboys Stadium and the fight. Jerry Jones put down 6 million guaranteed for this fight. He's serious about attracting bigger fights in the future. I think it's good for the sport to have more big fights outside of Vegas. So no complaints there, let's hope the fight tomorrow is competitive and holds us over until May 1st! I hope Clottey discovers some stamina to throw more punches by the fight.
I'm not sneak dissing or anything. But everyone at my job who used to tell me Pac will knock Floyd out didn't even know he was fighting this weekend... Smh. That's why I believe most of Pacs fans are ex-Mike Tyson fans. All they want to see is KOs. I personally can't watch this fight. Nothing against Pac but a lot against Clottey. All dude does is block. He throws maybe 10 punches per round. Not to mention he took a slave deal for this fight lol. I see Clottey blocking all night and Pac throwing a million punches...(Yawn... Can't wait for May 1st... The real event)
By the way I'm new to this site so can someone tell me how to put the pics on the side and stuff? I do see that this site has team Pac vs Team Mayweather just like ************... Lol
I got 2k on Smith over Dodson in tonights fight if anyone fancies a small bet.
I got Pacquiao to beat Clottey.Your 100k against my 1.2 million.:boxing:
Arum and Roach prefer Pacquiao to fight Mosley next
March 12th, 2010
By Chris Williams
If Top Rank promoter Bob Arum and trainer Freddie Roach had their ways, World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao would be facing WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley next and not unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. Both Roach and Arum see it easier to deal with Mosley and set up a fight compared to Mayweather, who will likely ask for Olympic style random blood testing to be done before hell step in the ring with Pacquiao.
Roach also believes that a fight between Mosley and Pacquiao would be much more of a boxing fan friendly fight, because of Mosleys tendency to go toe to toe with his opponents. Theres no question that Mosley would be trying to slug it out with Pacquiao all night long rather than boxing from the outside like Mayweather will probably do. Despite his wanting Pacquiao to fight Mosley, Roach is realistic about what the fans want to see. He acknowledges that most fans care more to see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rather than Mosley vs. Pacquiao. Roach says that he thinks that Mayweather will beat Mosley when they meet on May 1st at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Roach believes that Mayweathers movement will cause problems for Mosley, who doesnt do well against fighters that move a lot.
The problem with Arum and Roachs wanting Mosley to fight Pacquiao is that its not likely to happen. Mosley is 38-years-old and probably not going to do well enough to beat Mayweather. Arum and Roach are going to have to deal with that, accept it and try to get their fighter Pacquiao to agree to the random blood testing that Mayweather wants. This is the fight that fans really care about.
If Arum and Roach become stubborn and unyielding about that issue and leave it up to the Athletic Commission to decide, then they might as say they dont want Pacquiao to fight Mayweather, because the blood testing is part of the deal with setting up a fight with Mayweather. If Arum, Roach and Pacquiao want the truly huge money that comes with a fight against Mayweather, then they have to be willing to make some minor sacrifices about random blood testing.
They can wish all they want that Mosley comes out on top, but its probably going to leave them feeling frustrated in the end when Mayweather comes out on top. It would be better for Arum and Roach to accept that Mayweather will probably win, and start early trying to make Pacquiao understand the importance of him taking the random blood tests that Mayweather is asking for.
Pacquiao will have to face the fear of having blood taken from him, but once he realizes that its not logical for a fighter to be weak from having small amounts of blood taken from him, he should be okay with taking the fight. Arum and Roach should put Mosley completely out of their mind and focus entirely on Mayweather. Hes the one that will likely win, and besides that, hes the one that boxing fans want to see.
Mosley is a nice guy, but if boxing fans dont care to see him, then why waste time wanting Pacquiao to fight him? They already have Pacquiao fighting Joshua Clottey this Saturday night. Although there are a lot of people coming to see the Pacquiao-Clottey fight, this fight hasnt generated a lot of interest mainly because Clottey is an unknown fighter, and is coming off a loss in his last fight to Miguel Cotto.
Its a credit to Pacquiao that hell probably bring in good pay per view numbers, but those numbers for the Clottey fight are nothing compared to what they would have been had Pacquiao fought Mayweather. Thats the fight that boxing fans care about.
People who know about the "Prince" will know he was far from his best when he met Barrera in the ring. After parting with Brendan Ingle and joining Oscar Suarez and Manny Steward, his style had been changed to such an extent that he lost most of his illusiveness and accuracy; his feet were more planted, he threw wide, crazy shots. Plus he lost his desire to train hard, and eventually lost his desire to fight with the large amount of money he made out of the game; he'd been there, done it. Barrera was in his prime, trained hard, and was out to prove a point to the world after his controversial loss to Morales.
I'v always believed that a prime Naz of 96-97 would beat Barrera in a tough fight, maybe even a war. With his illusive speed, movement and footwork, off-balance, unorthodox style, and devastating punching power coming from awkward angles, I think he would eventually TKO Marco in the later rounds. Plus, at this stage he was taking the fight game seriously; training with Brendan Ingle, and training hard. He also had something to prove at this stage. Not to mention Barrera was offered the fight by Frank Warren in 96, 98, and again by Naz in 2000 when he fought Augie Sanchez; and he turned the fight down each time; as did many other top ranked super bantam, and feather weights, including the rival champions.
Is'nt it too simplistic to say Hamed would of lost to Pac, Morales, JMM, particularly when you can hit as hard as Hamed did and when JMM is a guy that does have a shaky chin imo, Morales gets hit far too much and is inclined to go to war, Pac himself was not exactly hard to find back in the day.
I know a lot of people still to this day dont like Hamed but surely he would of had more than a chance with any of these guys? not many people went 12 against this guy without getting KTFO, even fighters with decent chins could get knocked out against Hamed.
Listen!
Me and my dah have been going over this over the last week. We've been watching tapes of both Pacquiao and Clottey, breaking downs their strengths and weaknesses
At the end of the day, this is exactly what's going to happen.....
Pac comes out to meet Clottey and Clottey starts to retreat, if Clottey goes back an inch farther he'll end up in a ringside seat. Pac swings with a left, Pac swings with a right, just look at young Pacquiao carry the fight. Clottey keeps backing but there's not enough room, it's a matter of time until Pac lowers the boom. Then Pac lands with a right, what a beautiful swing, and the punch raised the bear clear out of the ring. Clottey still rising and the ref wears a frown, but he can't start counting until Clottey comes down. Now Clottey disappears from view, the crowd is getting frantic and our radaring stations have picked him up somewhere over the Atlantic. Who on Earth thought, when they came to the fight, that they would witness the launching of a human satellite. Hence the crowd did not dream, when they laid down their money, that they would see a total eclipse of................................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..........this is where it ends, isn't it?
I like Pacquiao. It's a shame he doesn't have an undefeated record like me
