When have you seen two huge punchers and/or offensive machines face off? what are the greatest examples you can think of?

off the top of my head, I would say Gerald McClellan vs Julian Jackson. two hellish punchers in the same ring. needless to say, the guy with the much better chin won. but only after some real nasty exchanges.

Pipino Cuevas vs. Thomas Hearns is another one. but Cuevas's bone breaking punches never had a chance to land before his head started spinning

Boxing: Cock of the Dock - Part II!
Mar 31 2009 by Nick Peet, Liverpool Echo

TONY QUIGLEY and Tony Dodson may be set for a repeat of their thrilling ‘Cock of the Dock’ British title fight before the start of summer.

The super-middleweight rivals featured in one of the finest and most competitive contests to be staged in the city for decades at the ECHO Arena at the weekend.

‘Cinderella Man’ Quigley found the finish when it mattered most, taking the decision away from the judges by forcing a TKO stoppage with little more than 90 seconds left of the last round.

But Dodson’s bravery after fighting back from an almost disastrous start left everyone involved convinced that a second fight between the pair would be equally as exciting.

Both have already spoken privately to one another and discussed the possibility of a second fight, while bosses at Setanta and at the King’s Dock venue have already verbally signed up to get involved.

However, former champion Brian Magee remains the number one contender, after all, he relinquished his title after picking up a back injury to allow the Scouse pair to fight for the vacant belt.

Yet with no news yet on his current fitness and also rumours abroad that he could land a European title fight inside the next few months, Quigley-Dodson II is a real possibility.

Hayemaker boss Adam Booth said: “The winner of Saturday’s fight always had to face Brian Magee next, that was and remains the deal.

“That means Tony Quigley will defend against Magee and we are looking to make that fight happen in Liverpool.

“However, things change quickly in boxing and naturally a Dodson-Quigley rematch would make perfect sense after a close fight.”

Echo Arena sales manager Ian Congdon said the venue was delighted to begin its relationship with the boxing ring in such fine fashion.

And they’d jump at the chance to host a second fight between the two Liverpool warriors.

He said: We are extremely proud to have hosted such a memorable evening of boxing here at the Echo Arena.

“We made our professional boxing debut along with David Price and it was very important we were able to set a high standard. We couldn’t have got off to a better start and we were privileged to have witnessed such a classic fight at the top of the bill between Quigley and Dodson.

“That was simply world class boxing at its best, and sure to go down as a modern classic.

“We were especially delighted with the way the public responded to the event; they were impeccably behaved and the atmosphere created was fantastic.

“The fans rose to the occasion and we thank them for their part in making this a phenomenal night.

“We look forward to the future as this event was the first of what we hope will be many regular promotions in partnership with Hayemaker Boxing in the city.”

Saturday’s enthralling opener is an early front runner to be named British Fight of the Year.

While much of the talk in the boxing world has focused on the junior welterweight mega-fight between Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquaio, another big fight in the division is quickly approaching.

(Its this saturday to be precise)

Found a pretty good preview The Boxing Bulletin: Timothy Bradley vs Kendall Holt Preview

What are your thoughts on the fight?

They are two similar in size and style both like to brawl and be close, i honestly feel Hatton holds every edge over Pac but speed, and is more crafty and can adjust better to situations, such as Mayweather begin able to hold but not him, his usually style. Im telling you Pac will lose, he has to, JMM is better then him and has proved fighting younger and better opposition whereas Pac hasnt and hatton will be the first true test he will no conqueror!
Tyson vs Ali what do you think the outcome would have been personaly i think tyson would have won in his brief prime even if ali was in his prime.
